Scripts for eLearning

Aureus is a fast-growing education company developing a teaching app that delivers music arts lessons for children, based around a unique fantasy world and a cast of charming, magical characters.

Adhering to the existing characters and IP, I helped craft the lore of the fantasy universe; created character backstories; and helped standardize special powers and magical rules. The resulting style guide makes it easier for distributed teams to track details of the levels and characters, so there’s consistency across all assets.

I also wrote beta versions of the short stories and character dialogues that guide students through their journeys.

The “MovieToons” movie maker app engages kids and parents in educational and funny activities. Children can use provided scripts or write their own, then animate characters and export movies to share with friends and family.

I wrote several short scripts for the Beta launch, giving young creatives a starting point for their storytelling journies.

Shakespeers (now Young Inklings) is an educational platform for kids to learn about creative writing and share their writing projects with others.

My job was to help create the first 100 daily writing prompts, giving creative inspiration to young writers. Prompts will rotate daily, and honestly they were a blast to write!

I was approached by a health supplement startup to write edutainment scripts for their growing YouTube channel.

The product line included a variety of “gut health” supplements, and the videos needed to explain how a healthy and balanced “gut biome” helps with energy and general well-being.

Narration scripts required simplification of complex health and science topics, and references for animators to understand what should be on screen throughout the videos.

I also did some of the character design work.

When CareAcademy was in its early startup phase, I wrote more than 100 scripted training scenarios, courses, and narrations. Their learners earn certifications that provide a better level of care for patients, and new work opportunities for caregivers. CareAcademy has since raised more than $20MM.

This eLearning project for the UAE’s New Media Academy included more than 125 individual lessons. The initiative is designed to inspire public and private sector leaders and partners to embrace the concepts of digitalization, improving the quality and delivery of critical government services.

I wrote this business development series for Turo. It helps Turo’s partner hosts build successful car-share businesses with their spare vehicles or whole fleets of dedicated rental cars.

I wrote a series of courses for McKinney-Vento to help school districts implement effective homeless education programs, training staff and administrators to better identify the signs of homelessness and connect students to their local liaison.

I wrote over 60 video online training courses, along with supporting assets like ebooks and brochures, aimed at both advisers and retirees. The training explains the delicate ins and outs of Federal retirement, including CSRS, FERS, FEGLI, TSP, SSI, and more.
