I read an early version of the screenplay for this film around 2011 or so, when I was a judge for Shriekfest Screenplay Competition… in my opinion, it was one of the top 3 or 4 screenplays I ever read for them.
At the time, it was titled “Shut In”.
I didn’t know it had been produced — just discovered this yesterday.
The score so far on IMDB is moderate at 5.7 out of 10, but many of the negative comments are due to the film being “less gory” than the viewer had hoped, and the poster was ‘misleading’ with all the murder weapons.
As I remember it, it was a really strong character story, with a super memorable hook. I read a LOT of screenplays for Shriekfest, and only a few are still with me in any meaningful way.
I’m looking forward to seeing it.
What do you say? Let’s give it a little love!
